FRANKENS!

Hey there! So, as some of you my have seen, there is a lot of frankening going around! If you are new to the term, "franken", it just means it's a polish creation made/mixed by an individual. It's not something you can find at a store, or for purchase. Over at the Polish-aholics Anonymous facebook page, there was a lot of chatter about what we all call a "gram". It's just holographic powder that's mixed with paints and lacquers, typically for the use of painting cars. Since it can be mixed with lacquer (aka nail polish), and is holographic (typically the kind of polish EVERYONE is looking for - - Hello China Glaze OMG, Kaleidoscope, OPI DS series, Nfu Oh 61, Gosh, etc), a bunch of us purchased a gram of this powder to mix with our polishes to create new ones! Tonight, I made three franken polishes. The powder came in a little baggie, so I snipped off the tip of a straw to scoop up some powder and pour in the bottles. I also purchased mini bottles to make my new polishes in. Doing it this way allowed me to use less powder, and in case something went awry, I didn't waste an entire big bottle of polish. Anyway, here are my first frankens!

For this one, I happen to have a mini bottle of Orly's "Black Out" so I just mixed it in the existing bottle.
I don't have names for any of my frankens yet, so if you guys have any ideas, please share them with me! :) Thanks for reading!

  2. Hi there! Thanks for all of your nice comments! The first polish was OPI's Purple with a Purpose, and then second was China Glaze's Aqua Baby. The powder is cool for adding the holographic effect, but the seller on ebay where I purchased it is over charging. I'm looking for a new place to purchase the holographic powder. I'm still trying to get the rations to polish down, and it does change the actual color of the polish. I haven't tried it on my nails yet, but I will be sure to post about it when I do! :)
