Pink-ish Wednesday

Hi everybody!! I can't believe it's time for Pink Wednesday, yet again! Time is sure flying! Over the weekend I made a trip to 5 Below and saw they had a few new colors. My eyes immediately went to this color, called "Favorite Girl". It's a pinky-purple color that is so shiny and foil-y. It is opaque in two coats, and honestly, I was so impressed!! I want to try stamping with this color... if it works, I think it will make for some gorgeous stamps!!

Ooooo Look how pretty!!!

Funky Fingers Swatches!

Morning everybody! Today I have some Funky Fingers swatches to share with you. Funky Fingers can be purchased at 5 Below stores, and typically retail at 3 polishes for $5. They have a variety of creme and glitter colors, and are of pretty decent quality for the price! All these colors tend to dry to a different finish than I have seen on other polishes. It's not quite, matte, but more of a matte/satin finish. All of these pictures have no top coat or base coat, and are 3 coats each.

First up is: Riot

Next is: 220 Volts

This is: Ectoplasmic

And finally: Wild Child

Thanks for reading! :)

Random!

Hey there! I started trying out some of the Funky Fingers I got in the previous post. I started with the mini ones. They are all pretty sheer, and take like 4 or 5 coats to achieve opacity. The pink/gold one and the blue/pink one were the lightest of the bunch. The green/gold actually turned out pretty well. I'll show you some pics:

The duo-chrome effect is subtle, but there. This is just a cute, pretty, peachy pink. There is still some visible nail line, but if you can get around it, it's not too bad. Here is the green/gold duo-chrome:

You can definitely pick up on the green and the gold. I actually really like this one! I wish these had names! Yesterday afternoon, a friend of mine came over with an Easter gift which included three polishes by Sinful Colors. It was a coral one, a purple/blue glitter one, and a purple sparkle one. I don't remember the names, but I messed around with them a little bit last night. Here is a sneak peak of some colors! I'll take more pics and swatches soon!

Ciao!

My Best Friend!

Hi there! I have a super exciting post to write about today... my best friend in the whole wide world, Brooke. She and I have known each other since we were 1. She is pretty much my sister and unfortunately, she lives in NJ and I'm here in IL. It's a real bummer, and I miss her A TON, but, it makes days like today extra special. I got a package from her with a bunch of goodies inside. She knows about my little obsession with makeup and nail polish, and must have taken it into consideration when putting this little bundle of joy together for me! First, this is Brooke and I:

Brooke and Tara: Halloween 1986

Brooke and Tara: New Years Eve 2010
We have been through so much together, and I know how lucky I am to have a best friend for pretty much my whole life. Love you, Brooke!!!! OK, so this is what I received today!:

So awesome, right!? The polishes are by Funky Fingers. The colors of the bigger bottles are as follows: the purple one is called Riot, the green one is called Wild Child, and the Super Amazing glitter one is called Sand and Stilettos. HOLY MOTHER OF BLING TO THE MAX!!!!!!! The other smaller polishes in the plastic are a collection called, "Mighty Brights". There are no individual colors names on the packaging or the polish itself,  but they appear to be a pink/gold duochrome, a green/gold duochrome, a purple/pink duochrome, and a teal/aqua/pink trio-chrome? I'll take some better pics when I do swatches. The other stuff is a bath bomb shaped like a cupcake, a loose pigment shimmer stack with a brush on the end, some Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play hairspray, a body spray and lotion, some Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Eggs, and she also included some metal plant stakes shaped like flowers. I can't believe she sent all this stuff!!! Oh, and you guys have to check out the card she sent with it:

It's so us!!!! hahahaha I love it! Alright so I'll have some swatches soon, but I could just not resist trying the glitter explosion. So here ya go:

I know it's blurry, but COME ON!!!! LOOK AT IT!!!!!
